Where and how did you get started as an artist?
I have always made art. As a child, I was always amazed at the freedom of creating my own spaces or worlds. That kind of freedom was wonderful as a child, and continues to be as an adult.

Who or what inspires and influences you?
I find inspiration everywhere, and I try to be open to the world for something that moves me. Art is always inspiring in and of itself, but it can also make you feel closed off or insular. I have been inspired a lot by the materials themselves, such as how sand mixed with paint on cardboard creates a tactile texture.

What type of art do you create?
Lately, I have mostly been working in abstract expressionism, collage, and conceptual art.

What materials do you use?
I consider myself a painter, however, I use many materials, including cardboard, sand, canvas, wood, and clay. I also do pottery, ceramic work, and other sculptural arts. I have also worked with installation and even performance art.
